LOS ANGELES

After leaving the observatory we headed downtown. We drove by Angels Flight the "Shortest Railway" in the world. It's a part of historic Bunker Hill. In the early twentieth century the wealthy residents of LA lived in huge Victorian Mansions and took the railway to get down the steep hill. Now it's caught between high rises. Rides used to cost 25 or 50 cents. Sadly, it's been closed for a few years, but you can take the stairs next to if you want.

Next we drove to the Bradbury Building. I'm not sure if it's open to visitors, but from pictures it looks amazing inside.

As we kept driving we discovered a produce district of sorts. There countless shops that only sell produce. We also drove by the textile and jewelry districts. These districts along with the flower and fashion ones (El Callejón as my parents like to call it) are incredible. My parents used to take us here all the time. I love the crowded streets and vendors. In each district you'll see stores upon stores all selling wholesale or retail to the public. It's a world all its own. Check it out!

Next we headed to Olvera Street. There's historical monuments like Pico House and shops with all sorts of trinkets and souvenirs.

Across the street is Union Station. I grabbed a picture of the place.

It was too early when we were driving up that shops had t opened so we kept on driving and came across the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels. Outside there is a courtyard, fountain, garden, visitor center and even a café. It was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we were in shorts and didn't feel it was appropriate to go inside. It was a shame too because Mass was about to start. You can see pictures of what it looks like inside here

The last place we saw was the Walt Disney Concert Hall. These aren't the best pictures, but parking is hard to find and we didn't feel like paying $4-$8 in parking for only twenty minutes.

And these are just random pictures I took.
