OUR FRONT YARD: BEFORE

It's been eight months and we've finally started to make some real progress on the house. We started working on front and back yards. Check out our before pictures. I'll make sure to post more when we're done.

FAMILY DIY

Last Sunday we decided to repaint the deck and swing set at our house. Kevin had power washed all the old paint two weeks ago so at least that part was done. After a whole day of painting between me, Kevin, my parents, and Kevin's parents in hundred degree weather we finished and it looks amazing. Kevin made an excellent color choice.

CREDENZAS!

This is silly, but I just learned what credenzas are. Well, I knew what they were I just didn't know they were called that. In the last year or so I've seen more and more. One of my favorite blogs is SF Girl by Bay. It's a great interior design blog so you should definitely check it out. Anyway, I found an old post on them and I want one even more. My mom actually has one. She bought at a yard sale in Provo when I was in kindergarten or first grade. If she ever decides to part with it I'll make sure to take it off her hands. Here's a few of my favorites.

DIY INSPIRATION

Hey everyone! This a short post on some interesting diy idea I found on Pinterest last night. Most of them are pretty easy and super stylish. My favorite has to be the bar car. It's actually an Ikea desk (Vittsjo) that only costs $40. It looks like the painted it, add wheels, and a plexiglass shelf at the bottom. The little lamp/coffee table is divine and I love the concrete. I just saw some similar ones on clearance at Target this morning. Kevin and I just bought a bar cart last week and I'm going to wait to get some plants (I don't want to kill them). The big marquee letter though! I'm thinking the letter g for Garcia? What are your favorite diy projects?

MRS. CLEAN

I spent most of my day cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom the bathroom took me the longest for some reason. I somehow always forget how many beauty and hair products I have. Ninety percent of all of this is mine and you're not seeing all of it. Anyway, I got a huge satisfaction in organizing and deep cleaning everything. Now I just need some wall art.

HOME INSPIRATION

My parents got something similar at a yard sale years ago. I hope to inherit someday.
I love the wall art! Hmm sounds like a DIY project!
G for Garcia. It's cool looking, but too big.

Kevin and I have been talking about getting a house these last few months. Our lease in ends this July and while it's been a great experience to be on our own, it'll be nice to do what you want when you want. No need to worry about the volume of the TV, being to loud and rowdy, pets, and parties. We're looking at moving back to good ol' Provo and I am super excited! There's a house we've been eyeing for about two months and I'm already trying to imagine all the painting and decorating I want to do, hence this post.

When I was younger I always imagined painting bright crazy colors, partly because we did that in my house and I loved it. Now, I've changed to loving the simple white walls and different styles of furniture; no nothing has to completely match anymore ha ha.

I'm almost always indecisive, but looking at these pictures I'm  starting to see a pattern. I love how different frames and pieces are arranged on the wall with the couch. Each can be different and unique and yet there's great balance and rhythm. I still can't figure out how to describe it. There's a sense of order in terms of how or where items are hanged, the colors, and textures. I don't have to buy a whole coordinating set and be stuck with it. Instead you can change it up and make it your own.

PIER 1 IMPORTS

I went to Pier 1 last week and got these drink mixers. I loved the different birds and the fact they were five dollars all added to the fact it was meant to be.

THE KITCHEN

I was able to snag a few photos of the kitchen. It's not a lot but it gives you an idea of what I've been able to do so far. At first I didn't think we would need so many cabinets, but it turns out we have a lot of stuff. The dining area is the smallest. Okay, it's really small, but it's an opportunity to get creative on the dining table.

HOME SWEET HOME

I have exciting news you guys!!!! Kevin and I have moved out! We had been talking about this for about a year. It a little hard to believe that the time has finally come. We're both in spot where it's actually possible and we're definitely ready to take a big step like this.

It was remodeled last year and it couldn't be better. I'm so excited to start decorating and organizing all of our stuff. I think the closet will be the hardest of all. Is it just a girl thing or do we always have so much stuff?! I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.
