SAN FRANCISCO 2014: LOMBARD STREET & MORE

This is the last of the never ending pictures. This is mostly just a mix of random pictures I took while driving or walking. On our way back from the Golden Gate Bridge we went down the Russian Hill on Lombard and Hyde. It took us 10-15 minutes at least just to go up two blocks. It's a one way street going down and is said to be the "Crookedest Street in the World." Is supposed to be that way because it's so steep. It was crazy! Just going up those two blocks to get to Hyde was kind of scary. With all the traffic it was slow going up. The car rolled back the entire way and I thought it my poor little car would die before making it up. Once you get to the top you'll see a crowd of people on each side and card trying to get through. The houses in that street are pretty big and so beautiful. I don't know how the people who live there put up with it.

Kevin got pink eye on Saturday and stayed in on Sunday resting. We had planned to get souvenirs for family and friends so I went San Francisco with Pedro and Kristen. I was able to get stuff for everyone within an hour or two, but they had never been to Fisherman's Wharf or the pier so we ended up doing some sight seeing. Pier 39 is most famous for all the seals. They also have restaurants and shops. I got Kevin a bucket of Trish's mini donuts. On our way to Ghiradelli Square we stopped at a the Franklin Bowles gallery with some works from Salavador Dali and Pablo Picasso.

Byron took us to Patxi's ("pa cheese"). Hands down it was one of the best pizzas we've ever had. I promise I'm not exaggerating! Those pies you're  seeing above we're huge in person and they were only mediums. Unlike most pizzas I've had, they add the sauce first and then the cheese. The Margharita pizza was my favorite.

On Saturday morning we had breakfast at Stacks in Burlingame. I met Kevin's other cousin Jeffrey for the first time. Kevin hadn't seen him in over five years so it was great for them to spend a couple of hours catching up. He was such a great guy and were able to share tons of laughs. I ordered a fruit crepe and it came with potatoes and a bagel. It's one if the biggest plates I've ever had. Jeffery told us that Burlingame is known as a kind of Baby Boomer town. Everyone there has kids and/or pregnant. I realized it's just like Utah!
