SAN FRANCISCO 2014: GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE & SAUSALITO

Saturday we explored a little in Sausalito. It's a town north of San Francisco after crossing the bridge. It was such a cute little town. The center of it was full of people walking around. People were already in bars celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

After leaving we went to Fort Baker. It was decommissioned years ago and has a short trail to a lookout point. There's also a long winding road where you can go high up on the mountain and see the skyline. It's long stretch with a lot of curves. Somehow people manage to bike up there. Near the top we found a spot to park and took a few pictures. The boys had a great bonding moment.

Last year we stopped at the fort and we wrote  our names. This entire trip we planned to go back and make sure it was still there. As we were driving back down there was no sign of parking. All along the road the shoulder widens with dozen spots, but they were all full. I was beginning to panic because we were about to pass the last parking area in front of the fort and no one seemed to be leaving. At the very last second someone was leaving and we nabbed the very last spot. I might be over exaggerating, but seriously it was meant to be. It just was

When we got there we noticed someone had painted the entire wall! We didn't have a marker so Kevin used my keys and carved our initials. In the picture you can kind of make out the KGA. Hopefully this one will survive until next time.
